An e-mail forwarder, or redirect, is a special type of e-mail account which forwards all e-mail sent to a particular e-mail address @yourdomain.com to another POP3 e-mail account at any domain.

2. What is the difference between POP3 E-mail Account and an e-mail forwarder? [ top ]

POP3 e-mail account is a special kind of e-mail account that comes with a login and password. A POP3 account allows the user to send and receive new messages from this e-mail address. An e-mail forwarder does none of the above, and only forwards all e-mail sent to a particular e-mail address @yourdomain.com to another POP3 e-mail account at any domain.

3. How many e-mail forwarders am I allowed to use? [ top ]

This depends on the type of account you have.
You can view all the details of your hosting account by logging into the Control Panel and selecting the domain you wish to check. The details of the account are summarized at the bottom of the page and look something like this:

4. How do I create additional e-mail forwarders accounts on my account? [ top ]

You can forward or redirect email from one mailbox to another email address. By creating an email redirect or alias, messages are sent to a different email box without the sender needing to know the new address. Email can be redirected to an address outside the domain. Use this feature to:

• Temporarily forward mail when someone is unavailable to receive it
• Send mail to a new mail box if a mail box user is leaving the organization
• Forward mail to a new account which will eventually replace an old mail box (e.g. someone is changing their mailbox name but hasn't had time to inform all correspondents of the change yet)

1. Log into your Control Panel.
2. Select the appropriate domain.
3. Click on the "Mail"button (1st column, 2nd row). You should see a listing of all of your current POP3 accounts.
4. Click on the appropriate "Mail Name" link to go to the Mail Name Properties page, where you can adjust the Mail Name properties.
5. Click in the check box provided next to Redirects.
6. In the text field to the right, enter the appropriate address to which to forward mail sent to this mail name.
7. To change the redirect address for a given mail name, click on the existing entry in the Redirects box and change it to the new address.
8. Click the UPDATE button to enter these changes.

Below is acceptable forwarding addresses for any one of your e-mail forwarders:

1. POP3 account (@yourdomain.com), another account on your domain.
2. A POP3 account (@aol.com) not at your domain.
3. Another e-mail forwarder not affiliated with your domain.
